As my exams and assignment deadlines draw nearer, I have started to prepare for the next event in history: the Carnival ! The Carnival tradition started in ancient times, coming from the words "carne" meaning meat in Italian, and "val" coming from festival. Thus, the Carnival should be a festival where people can eat meat before Lent period in Christian religion (before starting preparing for Good Friday and Christ's Crucifixion).

In Malta we have two types of Carnivals:
- The one that occurs at the capital city of Malta, Valletta which consists of people wearing bright costumes, having large masks on tractors and dances. This is mainly the Carnival done for children.

- The second Carnival occurs at a city on the island of Gozo, Nadur. This is the more dark and sinister Carnival where people wear gothic clothes or anything dark- funny. A lot of strange things happen here ha ha.

Well, as I will be most likely that I attend the second than the first, I am starting to plan a costume that I will probably wear. Should it be a white, Victorian style one with a white mask or should it be a red and black gothic one with a black mask ?? Any opinions ? Well, there is still one month to decide on that. Until that time, I have to continue my work . . .
